“Energy therapy” is hardly a commonplace term. This exciting new field — which some high-profile visionaries like Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Larry Dossey have called “the future of healthcare” — is still news to most, strange to many, and intimidating to more than a few.

For many decades, science has told us that subtle energies exist and that everything alive is an energy system. We have more and more research in hand from quantum physicists and medical professionals about the relationship between our energy system and our health. As therapists and teachers, we experience the healing, relaxing and restorative effects of energy-based therapies in ourselves, our clients, and our students every day. We see the profound, virtually limitless potential these therapies offer.

And we would like to help you understand, experience and enjoy the benefits of that potential too.

EQUILIBRIUM Energy + Education was created to help accelerate the understanding and embracing of energy-based therapies. Our ardent desire is to demystify these therapies, share research that quantifies and documents their specific effects, and offer affordable treatments and classes that can help you achieve equilibrium in body, mind, heart and soul.

In our age of instant innovation, it’s easy to forget how long it sometimes takes to integrate unfamiliar concepts and use them in our everyday lives, especially if it’s something we can’t “see.”

In 1886, for example, Heinrich Hertz and James Clark Maxwell conducted research that indicated the existence of strange, undiscovered forces.

“We have these mysterious electromagnetic waves that we cannot see with the naked eye. But they are there,” Hertz wrote. He saw no practical importance for his experimentation, though, adding, “It’s of no use whatsoever.”

Inventor Nikola Tesla disagreed. Fourteen years later, on March 20, 1900, Tesla was granted a patent for a “System of Transmission of Electrical Energy” that would “transmit intelligible messages to great distances” – the first patent for radio. But it took another 25 years for most Americans to have a radio in their homes.

Given the increasing levels of stress, demands from a chaotic world, and resulting imbalance, we don’t want you to wait that long to benefit from energy therapies. We know their power and their promise, and we invite you to know it too. Depending on your specific areas of interest, please check out the links on this page, which may help to further inform you.

And if you’re wondering what energy therapy means, we invite you to ponder this charming and relevant quote from Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio:

"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: You send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat."
